THE PLACE: Stopped by the Grand Marlin on Pensacola Beach after a Mardi Gras party to chat with a friend and decompress from all the fun and frivolity. It was in-between lunch and dinner so there was not much of a crowd. The outside dining area was just the sunny place we needed to talk and relax. It overlooks the stunning view of Santa Rosa Sound.
We were greeted right away and sat immediately. Our server was helpful with the menu.
THE TASTE: Since we were just having a quick bite and some non alcohol beverages we chose the Blue Angel Chips. They are house-made chips topped with a warm melted Maytag blue cheese sauce. We chose to have bacon on top. They come in two sizes a half and a whole. We chose the larger version.
They were creamy, warm and oh so tasty. It really hit the spot.
On other occasions I have dined in the main dining room and on the deck, both experiences have been terrific. The staff and the quality of the food make it a great place for a fancy dinner out or as was my most recent experience a casual quick bite.
