The Margaritaville list of things to do on December 31 is extensive: http://www.margaritavillehotel.com/calendar.html?page=calendar&view=2014-12-31

Everything from decorating your own Champaign flute to steel drums at Midnight.

Pensacola Symphony

Saenger Theatre, 116 S. Palafox Place. Peter Rubardt, conductor. Lindsay Deutsch, violin

New Year’s Eve is a great time for traditions, and New Year’s Eve with the Pensacola symphony is one of the best.  For seventeen years we’ve spent the evening celebrating great music with our families, neighbors, and the community of Northwest Florida. Needless to say, we don’t let the program get too serious.  This concert is a time for fun, for sparkle, for festivities.  It’s the perfect party, and you are invited.

One thing that makes a concert festive is music that everybody loves, and this concert has that in spades: selections from the Big Band Era like In the Mood, a handful of show tunes from the hit Chicago, and a healthy sampling of Gershwin’s greatest music from Porgy and Bess.  Another thing that adds to the fun is jaw-dropping instrumental virtuosity, and we’ll have plenty of that as well.  We’ll be joined by a brilliant violinist, Lindsay Deutsch.  With loads of charisma and great fingers, she is sure to bring the house down with favorites like Meditation from Thais and Vivaldi’s Winter concerto.

As usual the concert starts at 7:00, when it’s still easy to get parking downtown.  And we’ll be finished by 9:00, leaving plenty of time to get out of downtown early, or to settle in for the big pelican drop.   Either way, the PSO in the Saenger Theatre is a great way to get your New Year’s started.

Vinyl Music Hall

Free* NYE Jam With: Post Pluto, Fatty Waters, New Earth Army, Soul’D Out. Join Vinyl Music Hall for a NEW YEARS EVE JAM with 4 of the best bands in the area rocking the party all night! 21 and over – FREE.

The Pensacola Pelican Drop

Ring in the new year in Downtown Pensacola with The Pensacola Pelican Drop™, a free event unique to the Gulf Coast brought to you by the Downtown Improvement Board (DIB). Festivities kick off at 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and continue until 12:30 a.m. Throughout the evening the giant Pelican (14 feet tall, with a 20-foot wingspan) is perched above the celebration on a 100-foot platform at the intersection of Palafox and Government Streets. Although Palafox and Government Street will be closed to traffic, area restaurants will be open and additional vendors will be providing refreshments.

Live performances on three outdoor stages provide ongoing entertainment throughout the evening. The popular kids’ area will be expanded this year and will feature the special kids’ countdown at 8 p.m. with confetti and the “bubble stomp.” At the stroke of midnight, the whole city celebrates as the Pelican descends amidst fireworks and more confetti. http://www.pensacolapelicandrop.com/

Pensacola Beach Fireworks

Pensacola Beach Chamber hosts two fireworks shows on December 31 one at 8 p.m. at the Portofino Boardwalk and another at the stroke of midnight at the end of the Gulf Pier. Both are spectacular, get there early, grab dinner, watch the fireworks then enjoy your evening at one of the many entertainment areas on Pensacola Beach.
