Progressive Student Alliance at UWF @ UWF Commons Room 268
May 31 @ 11:00 pm – Jun 1 @ 12:00 am

The mission of the Progressive Student Alliance is to facilitate discourse both on campus and in the community concerning progressive issues that we care deeply about. To do this, we are working to build alliances and collaborate with other progressive student groups and community organizations.

We will host events, lobby the administration and the government for desired changes, as well as raise awareness and support among our fellow students and the greater community for the issues we fight for.

We envision a community of progressives working together to foster social justice activism at the University of West Florida, and throughout the community as a whole, through direct democracy, collective communication and collective action. We believe we can, and should, change the world.

Jazz Society of Pensacola and Five Sisters Presents Blue Monday @ Five Sisters Blues Cafe
Jun 12 @ 11:30 pm – Jun 13 @ 2:30 am

The Jazz Society of Pensacola’s “Blue Monday” happens every second Monday evening of each month at the Five Sisters Blues Café, located at 421 West Belmont Street (corner of Belmont and Devillers) in Pensacola. Live blues, which of course is very closely related to jazz, is featured in a variety of styles with groups or bands chosen from around the Emerald Coast area, often with special guests sitting in. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and music happens from 6:30 till around 9:30.

Cost of admission is $8 for JSOP members, $10 for non-members, and $5 for students with ID. Proceeds go to pay the performing musicians and to support JazzFest.

One may order from the menu and cash bar is also available. The music is great and there is plenty of time to visit and meet old and new jazz friends. Guests are welcome. Those joining the Society get free admission to their first Blue Monday. Our monthly “Blue Mondays” are a great jazz happening for music and fun with friends in jazz.
